Bound Success Stories: Fundraising
$13,000 with No Sweat: How Cedar Rapids Kennedy (IA) Crushed Their Fundraising Goals
“We fundraised this year and it was the probably the least painful way we've ever fundraised, and it was also our most successful. I don't plan on fundraising for the next three years because we did so well. We set our goal at $10,000 and eclipsed it."

Massive success.
Curt Pakkabier, boys track coach at Cedar Rapids Kennedy, makes an effort to only fundraise when absolutely necessary. Oftentimes, the track team doesn’t need the money, and in the past, the systems used made the process a headache. This year was different. Using Bound, he ran the most successful fundraiser in program history, exceeding their $10,000 goal with ease.
“I don’t plan on fundraising for the next three years because we did so well.”
But it wasn’t just the outcome, it was the process. “It was probably the least painful way we've ever fundraised.”

Beyond fundraising, Bound has simplified the Kennedy track program’s day-to-day operations. While some meets still require third-party platforms, most have moved directly into Bound’s system.
"It’s simplified, it’s an all-in-one-stop place. You can just get to everything all in the same location."
Curt greatly appreciates Bound’s team of former AD’s, namely Aaron Stecker, his predecessor at Kennedy - “he understands the world of athletics… but also gets the whole setting up programs through Bound. He brings those two worlds together to make it work.”
