Bound Success Stories: Camps
Camps That Fill the School: How Benet Academy Built an Enrollment Engine with Bound Camps
"Our camps are a big marketing tool for enrollment at our school. Bound makes it look like it's coming from Benet Academy — and enrollment means everything for a private school."
Scott Lawler | Benet Academy Athletic Director
Recruiting visibility.
For most athletic departments, summer camps are a revenue line. At Benet Academy, a private school in Lisle, Illinois, they're a recruiting channel. Every camp is a family's first look at the school, which means the registration experience isn't a back-office detail — it's a first impression.
Scott Lawler, Athletic Director and head baseball coach, has run camps on Bound for five to six years, after previously using My Online Camp and Riser. The difference he points to first is branding: Bound camp pages and social graphics look like Benet Academy, not like a third-party vendor's checkout. The system behind them is just as important. Everyone can see where the dollars go, so each program gets paid correctly, and the department can set a camp up quickly and run it themselves.

Camps and fundraising were where Benet Academy started with Bound, and they worked well enough to reshape the department's entire software strategy. Scott describes it as doing things backwards: rather than switching platforms all at once, his team adopted a few Bound tools, watched what happened with camps, sponsorships, and program fundraising, and decided they wanted everything in one place. Benet Academy is now mid-transition, with every product coming online over the next two months.
The support behind it is what made the expansion feel safe. Bound has helped with everything from social graphics to the camp site itself, and when something went wrong — including user error — someone was there to work through it.
"We didn't always get that with some of the other places."
For a department where two assistant ADs, an admin assistant, and Scott himself each work in different systems today, the appeal of a single umbrella is straightforward: fewer logins, clearer ownership, and a staff that can see what everyone else is doing.

Bound has helped Scott...
Support Enrollment
By making camp pages and promotional graphics look like they come from Benet Academy, Bound has helped the school treat every camp as a recruiting touchpoint rather than a transaction with an outside vendor.
Run Camps Independently
By making setup fast and self-service, Bound has given Scott's staff the ability to launch camps on their own timeline, with clear visibility into where revenue goes and which program it belongs to.
Consolidate Departments
By proving out camps, sponsorships, and fundraising first, Bound earned the move to one system by replacing five or six separate platforms with a single place where the whole staff can see what's happening.
