Making an impact in many ways.
Bound is proud to recognize Geoff Dixon, CAA, athletic director for the River Valley School District, as the Bound Athletic Director of Influence for Pennsylvania.

Geoff Dixon, CAA
Athletic Director, River Valley High School
Working alongside fellow athletic director Tiara Stossel, Dixon helps direct River Valley’s athletic programs at the middle school and high school levels. His responsibilities extend across scheduling, budgeting, policy development, facility management, regulatory compliance and the coordination of athletic events throughout the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association’s District VI region and the Heritage Conference.
While those operational responsibilities are essential, Dixon’s leadership reaches well beyond the daily management of an athletic department.
At the heart of his work is a commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for students. River Valley athletics emphasizes the development of teamwork, self-discipline, courage, sportsmanship and personal responsibility. Dixon works to ensure those values are reflected in the district’s programs, communicated by its coaches and experienced by its student-athletes.His leadership is grounded in a simple but powerful understanding: school athletics should prepare students for far more than their next competition.
Dixon brings a distinctive perspective to athletic administration because he remains directly involved in the student-athlete experience. As River Valley’s head track and field and cross country coach, he continues to work alongside students in practices, at competitions and throughout the demanding process of preparing for a season.
Coaching keeps Dixon connected to the daily realities facing student-athletes and coaches. He understands the early mornings, long practices, difficult conversations and small moments of growth that often take place outside the public spotlight. That connection strengthens his leadership as an athletic administrator.
Dixon does not simply develop policies for coaches to follow—he understands what it means to implement those expectations within a program. He does not merely observe the student-athlete experience—he helps shape it.
His dual role allows him to see River Valley athletics from multiple perspectives and provides him with valuable insight into how administrative decisions affect students, coaches and families.
Dixon’s influence also extends into the broader River Valley community through his service as president of the River Valley Education Foundation.
In that role, he has helped strengthen connections among the school district, local businesses, healthcare organizations and community supporters. Through fundraising, corporate sponsorships and strategic partnerships, Dixon works to create additional opportunities and resources for River Valley students.
His leadership reflects an understanding that successful school programs are rarely built in isolation. They grow through trusted relationships and a shared commitment to young people.
By bringing educational, athletic and community partners together, Dixon has helped create a stronger support system for students throughout the district. His work demonstrates how an athletic administrator can serve as a bridge between a school and the community it represents.
That community-minded approach has also supported partnerships designed to enhance student health, athletic performance and access to sports medicine resources. These initiatives benefit student-athletes while strengthening the district’s ability to provide safe and professionally supported athletic experiences.
Dixon has also played an important role in the continued modernization of River Valley’s athletic operations.
Beginning with the 2026–27 school year, River Valley introduced Bound as its athletics management platform for student registration, scheduling, scores and program communication. Dixon helped guide the transition and communicated the new system to students and families.
The move reflected more than the adoption of new technology. It represented a commitment to creating a more organized, accessible and connected experience for everyone involved in River Valley athletics.
Dixon understands that innovation in athletic administration should have a clear purpose. Technology is most valuable when it simplifies processes, improves communication and allows administrators and coaches to devote more time to serving students.
His forward-thinking leadership continues to help River Valley identify new ways to strengthen its operations while preserving the relationships and traditions that make school athletics meaningful.
Dixon’s Certified Athletic Administrator designation reflects his commitment to professional development and the standards of education-based athletic leadership.
Earning the CAA credential requires an athletic administrator to demonstrate professional experience, complete extensive leadership training and successfully pass a national certification examination. It represents a commitment to continuing education, ethical leadership and the responsible administration of interscholastic athletic programs.
For Dixon, professional growth is not simply about advancing his own career. It is about becoming better equipped to serve student-athletes, support coaches and lead his district.
Whether he is coordinating an athletic event, guiding a coach, developing a community partnership, leading the education foundation or working directly with runners at practice, Dixon approaches his responsibilities with energy, purpose and a genuine commitment to people.
The most influential athletic administrators understand that leadership is not confined to an office.
It can be found at the finish line of a cross-country race. It can be seen in the relationships developed with community partners. It can be measured in opportunities created for students and reflected in the culture established throughout an athletic department.
Geoff Dixon’s influence is evident in each of those areas.
He is an administrator who organizes, a coach who develops, a foundation leader who connects and an advocate who continually works to expand opportunities for young people.
Through his service to River Valley School District, the Heritage Conference and the greater Blairsville community, Dixon has demonstrated what it means to lead education-based athletics with vision, versatility and purpose.
For his commitment to student development, his leadership within River Valley athletics and his ability to unite schools and communities through service, Bound proudly recognizes Geoff Dixon, CAA, as the Bound Athletic Director of Influence for Pennsylvania.
