Emily Barkley, CMAA, is one the most impactful athletic leaders in Oklahoma and across the nation.

Emily Barkley, CMAA, is one the most impactful athletic leaders in Oklahoma and across the nation.

Emily Barkley was named Director of Athletics for Union Public Schools in 2012. She previously served as associate and assistant director of Athletics. She joined the Athletic Department in August 2004 and has been a part of 69 athletic state championships and 1 academic state championship during her tenure.

Barkley is recognized by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) as a Certified Master Athletic Administrators (CMAA), the highest level of certification an athletic director can obtain. She previously earned Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) and a Registered Athletic Administrator (RAA) distinctions.

Barkley was the first female elected to aas a Board Member & Region 7 representative for the Oklahoma Coaches Assoc. Barkley also serves on the NIAAA Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion ad hoc committee and is the Oklahoma State Leader for The Global Community of Women in High School Sports.
